What Is The Function Of The Transmission Solenoid Valve?

The function of the transmission solenoid valve is to adjust the opening of the solenoid valve during the gear shifting process to improve the smoothness of the gear shifting. Different solenoid valves control different clutches or brakes and work in different gears. Each gear is controlled by one or several solenoid valves.

The function of the automatic transmission solenoid valve: the solenoid valve is controlled by the transmission electronic control module TCU. Basically, the pressure of the neutral gear and the gear is a constant value. Only during the gear shifting process, the opening of the solenoid valve is adjusted to improve the smoothness of the gear shifting. Different solenoid valves control different clutches or brakes and work in different gears. Each gear is controlled by one or several solenoid valves.

The solenoid valve mainly refers to two pressure regulating solenoid valves, one for adjusting the main oil pressure and the other for adjusting the torque converter locking oil pressure. These two oil pressures also control the shift valve body in the oil circuit board. If one of them does not work well, it will cause gear shift shock. Over time, the clutch plate and brake belt in the gearbox will be worn out, causing more serious failures.

Transmission solenoid valves are roughly divided into two categories:
1. Switch type --- a certain current or voltage is used to energize the internal coil of the battery valve, and then the internal needle valve or ball valve is driven to move, thereby blocking or opening the oil circuit. It is mostly used to control gear shifting.
2. Pulse type --- current duty cycle control, through frequency control. It is mostly used to adjust oil pressure.
