Common faults and treatment methods of transmission solenoid valves

Solenoid valves are switching devices that use electric current to generate electromagnetic force to control valves. They are a type of actuator. Solenoid valves can be divided into three categories in terms of structure: direct-acting solenoid valves, step-by-step direct-acting solenoid valves, and pilot-operated solenoid valves. The selection of solenoid valves should follow the four principles of safety, reliability, applicability, and economy. The function of the transmission solenoid valve is to generate electromagnetic force through electric current to control the mechanical valve to achieve oil channel switching and adjust the oil flow pressure. The transmission solenoid valve mainly controls the clutch and brake of the transmission.

In addition to the value of the solenoid valve itself, replacing the transmission solenoid valve also requires expensive disassembly and assembly labor hours. The solenoid valve itself has a wide variety of prices and is even more irregular. As for the disassembly and assembly labor costs of replacing the solenoid valve, it is even more difficult to estimate. The difficulty of disassembly and assembly of different types of transmissions and the ease of replacing the solenoid valve are different. These factors will affect the final replacement cost. It is recommended to inquire about the specific replacement cost of the transmission solenoid valve at the brand dealer, and you can also inquire at other professional transmission repair stations. Regarding the cost of replacing the transmission solenoid valve, you can understand the approximate market situation.

There are also common faults of the transmission solenoid valve. The maintenance of the transmission cannot be ignored during the usual vehicle maintenance. The following are common faults of the transmission solenoid valve and their treatment methods:

Fault: The solenoid valve does not work after power is turned on; Treatment method: Check whether the power cord is in poor contact, check whether the power supply voltage is within a reasonable range, check whether the coil is detached or short-circuited. If the problem cannot be solved in the end, consider replacing the solenoid valve.

Fault: The solenoid valve cannot be closed; Treatment method: If the sealant of the main valve core or the iron moving core is damaged, the sealant needs to be replaced, the solenoid valve core needs to be cleaned, the spring needs to be replaced due to fatigue deformation, and the holes of the solenoid valve need to be cleaned. If the problem cannot be solved in the end, consider replacing the solenoid valve.
